Catholic Conference Responds to Abortion Lobby's Latest Delay Tactic

July 7, 2022

The latest legal maneuvers by the Red River Women’s Clinic are a slap in the face to the people of North Dakota and an abuse of the judicial system.

In its attempt to stop the enforcement of North Dakota’s “trigger” law, the abortion center makes two claims. First, there is a right to abortion in the North Dakota Constitution. Second, the Attorney General cannot start the trigger until a later date.

The complaint inexplicably ignores the fact that the North Dakota Supreme Court already addressed this issue in 2014 and did not find a right to abortion in the state constitution.

The abortion center’s specious claims about the timing of the Attorney General’s actions are no more than an attempt to delay the inevitable.

The people of North Dakota chose to make the state a pro-life sanctuary. The sooner that day comes, the sooner all women and children, born and unborn, can be truly respected and protected.

What We Do
